Recognizing when something isn’t working in a relationship, wanting to create positive change, and then asking for help are acts of bravery that take courage. Megan views therapy as a highly collaborative process, using empathy to listen with compassion and gently challenge self-limiting beliefs.

Couples Therapy

Megan works with couples navigating communication breakdowns, emotional disconnection, parenting stress, betrayal or infidelity, intimacy concerns, life transitions, and boundary challenges with in-laws or extended family. She also helps couples recovering from trust ruptures, adjusting to new stages of family life, and balancing individual needs within their partnership.

As the mother of a child with special needs, Megan is especially drawn to helping couples and families process medical or educational diagnoses and navigate the complexities that often arise within the couple and family system. Her approach uses Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST) as a framework to implement Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method principles, helping partners identify negative interaction patterns, express deeper emotions, and create new experiences of connection and repair. Sessions often focus on building emotional safety, strengthening friendship and empathy, and fostering resilience during stressful times.

Megan believes that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process and tailors her methods to the couple’s goals, values, and relational dynamics.

Individual Therapy

Providing therapy in a safe, culturally sensitive, judgment-free space is essential to the therapeutic alliance. Megan works with individuals across all life stages to explore issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, perfectionism, identity concerns, self-esteem, and significant life transitions. She also supports clients working through relationship challenges, work stress, or the emotional impact of caregiving and parenting.

Her style is collaborative and integrative, drawing from attachment-based, mindfulness, and narrative approaches to help clients gain insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change. With warmth (and sometimes a little humor!), Megan works alongside clients to help them find practical, healthy ways forward.

Children

There will be times when children and teenagers don’t want to talk with their parents, which can lead to frustration, fear, and distance. Megan helps families address issues such as emotional regulation, anxiety, peer conflicts, boundary-setting, self-esteem, and adjustment to divorce or blended family life.

Drawing on narrative therapy and strength-based approaches, Megan uses creativity, storytelling, and externalizing techniques to help children express themselves in fun, accessible ways. She also draws on her experience working with neurodivergent children to adapt interventions that are flexible, engaging, and growth-oriented. By involving parents as allies in the process, she helps families improve communication and rebuild trust at home.

Education and Interests

Megan is a supervised clinician currently pursuing a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University. Outside of the office, she enjoys impromptu date nights with her husband, traveling to different countries, and exploring the outdoors with their three children.
