Matt Davis
Life can feel as if you’ve been hit with a ton of bricks all at once, or build pressure gradually, brick by brick. Matt’s goal is to help you take a step back, create space to better understand what’s happening, and find ways to bear the burden together.
Matt holds a bachelor’s in psychology from Utah Valley University and a master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Grand Canyon University. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing with his son, spending time with his wife, and enjoying any and all dad jokes.
Individual Counseling
Matt believes in the inherent goodness of people and the power of their lived experiences. His approach is collaborative and empathetic, meeting clients where they are and helping them develop greater self-awareness, navigate challenges, and move toward meaningful change. Drawing from approaches such as ACT, IFS, and DBT, Matt works alongside clients to better understand themselves, develop practical tools for navigating difficult emotions, and build the flexibility to respond to life’s challenges in ways that align with what matters most to them.
Couples Counseling
The people closest to us will understandably rub some raw spots—that’s part of being in a relationship with other imperfect people. The challenge comes when we begin to develop patterns around those hurts that leave us feeling disconnected, unheard, or alone. Matt primarily takes an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach to couples counseling, looking beyond the immediate conflict to understand the patterns and needs underneath it. He works with couples to process those experiences together, build healthier ways of communicating, and strengthen trust, emotional security, and connection. Matt works with couples at all stages of their relationships, including premarital, married, and long-term partnerships.
Adolescent/Family Counseling
Teenagers face enormous pressure from many directions during a critical time of development, and having a place where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted is an important part of navigating those years. Matt brings a relaxed, non-judgmental approach that helps adolescents feel comfortable being authentic and working through challenges, developing confidence, and finding greater direction and purpose. When helpful, Matt also works with parents and families to improve communication and provide support without losing sight of the teen’s individual therapeutic needs. He can help adolescents navigate concerns such as anxiety, depression, unwanted pornography use, social challenges, and the many other challenges that can come from this stage of development.
