Addiction
Addiction therapy is a specialized form of therapy and treatment designed to support individuals, and their loved ones, struggling with substance use disorders or behavioral addictions. Its primary goal is to help people overcome addiction, maintain long-term recovery, and enhance their mental, emotional, and social well-being.
Kaitlin approaches addiction therapy from a unique perspective. Drawing on her expertise in marriage and family therapy, she views addiction through the lens of family systems. Kaitlin believes that addiction not only affects the individual, but the entire family. Her background includes extensive experience working with individuals and families in treatment center settings, combined with her own journey in recovery. This blend of professional knowledge and personal insight deeply informs her therapeutic philosophy.
Her approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and the belief that healing happens through connection. Kaitlin takes a collaborative approach—walking alongside individuals, couples, and families as they process pain, rediscover their strengths, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Kaitlin works within the Recovery Model, Bowen Family Systems Theory, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients move beyond addiction and codependency. She provides practical tools, emotional insight, and guidance around establishing clearly defined boundaries. Her approach emphasizes understanding how addiction and recovery affect both the individual, their loved ones, and the entire family system.
She focuses on helping clients build trust, increase self-awareness, and foster open, respectful communication. Therapy, in her view, should be a safe and supportive space where clients feel seen, can be honest, and grow—no matter where they are starting from.
