Carlee Davis

Carlee has a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from New Mexico State University and is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.  She works with children, adolescents, adults, and couples.  She specializes in working with individuals and couples dealing with substance abuse, addiction, and trauma.

Therapy With an Individual

In individual counseling, Carlee focuses on your unique needs. Carlee uses a variety of techniques, specific to you, not only as an individual, but as a part of the large system you associate with. Carlee has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of mental health symptoms including depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and manic behavior. Carlee’s goal is to provide a safe and understanding environment that allows you to explore areas of your life, past and present, that may be contributing to how you are feeling now. Carlee works with children as young as 8 years old.

Therapy With Couples and Families

Carlee believes that relationships begin to face challenges when we shift from being together with intention to being complacent with each other. In couples therapy, Carlee will help you restore the foundation of your relationship by identifying your wants and needs with your partner and creating a purposeful way to reconnect.

Carlee sees families being composed of several individuals who have come together as one unit. Often the difficulties we face in relationships come from barriers to understanding the other’s wants and needs. The foundation of any relationship is communication. In therapy, Carlee will help you as a family (or couple) increase effective communication and listening skills to better address the wants and needs within the relationship.

When we experience trauma at any time in our lives, we are carrying excessive weight in our minds, body and spirit. Carlee works with you to help you understand and process your traumatic experiences in a safe and empowering space. Carlee’s goal is to help guide you through your experiences to establish a balance between mind, body, and spirit and to remove the burden that you may be carrying from your past. With children and adolescents, Carlee uses a trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) approach which empowers children to understand their trauma and share their experience with a safe and supportive adult. Carlee is able to work with children as young as 3 years old utilizing TF-CBT.
