Working with Individuals

During life we may experience difficulties, struggles and loss but I truly believe this is what makes us beautiful. As we learn to find our way through these trials, we may seek support through counseling, and I understand the strength and courage it takes to do this. On this journey of emotional healing and recovery I love seeing the progression one experiences as they show up and commit to working through life’s difficulties. As we unpack the trauma, anger, pain and loss, you will learn tools for living authentically, transforming the way you connect, and experience healing and growth.

Working with Couples

Is there a time in your marriage where you’ve felt alone, betrayed, disrespected or unhappy? As a therapist, I gravitate towards helping individuals, couples, and families learn to connect in a deeper and more meaningful way with the people in their lives. I believe we are not meant to be alone in this life. Sadly, many of us suffer difficulties that leave us feeling isolated and on our own. I can help both partners feel heard and understood, increase empathy, and rebuild a stronger relationship through understanding each other’s needs. When we are faced with the choice to rebuild the foundation of our relationships, we have the opportunity to restructure it to be safer, healthier, more stable, and more fulfilling.

Background and Training

I completed my undergraduate work at Brigham Young University and I am finishing my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Ottawa University with a specialty in trauma work. As a Supervised Clinician, I bring a lot of life experience and passion for helping others. My emphasis on quality counseling is based on professional training and is continually being expanded through ongoing involvement in the continuing education process through seminars, research, supervision, networking with other professionals, and personal reading and study. I am committed to finding the tools that work best for you. No single technique is right for everyone. I will implement various techniques and tools in a manner specifically tailored to each individual and relationship.

I am a wife, mother of 3 teenagers, sister and friend. I treasure each of these relationships and know that even though they require work to make them strong, I know that one of the great joys of life come from these connections.

Allison accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna insurance, or cash (self-pay). Allison’s fees without insurance are $60 for a 50-minute session, and a sliding scale is also available if needed.
