There are so many things in the world around us that make it difficult to feel good about ourselves. Not only do we see tremendous loss and pain happening on an international level, but it seems like each day brings more confusion and uncertainty for all of us. When the world is so ugly, how can we possibly feel good inside? Additionally, our society continues to dictate who matters and who does not based on how you look and how much money you have. The combination of these things can make it feel like no matter what we do, we will never be enough or that nothing we do matters. Luckily, how we feel about and view ourselves is something in our lives that each of us has control over.
In our current moment, the strides that have been made in the awareness around and prioritization of mental health has resulted in a wealth of information on ways you can increase your sense of worthiness and self-love. Developing more love for yourself not only impacts you and your life, but doing so also has an impact on those around. When we love ourselves, we give others permission to love themselves too. The following are some simple and easy ways you can bring feelings of worthiness into your life today:
Realize that your authentic self is never lost.
Practice reframing or though control.
Feelings aren’t always facts.
Genetics don’t determine family, you do.
Don’t wait or hold on, let it go.
Live in the present moment.
Remember you have a voice and choice.
Continually practice gratitude.
